If you have never visited Winder First United
Methodist Church, it might be helpful to learn more about our
Contemporary Service, so you will have a better idea what to expect.
Winder FUMC's Contemporary Service at 11:00am
features a unique way to worship God each Sunday morning. Beginning with
music, the congregation joins our Praise band (which has guitars, drums,
and bass) in singing Praise to God. After four or five songs, we greet
each other with the peace of Christ. Children are sent to First KIDS for
Children’s Church. Praise and Thanksgiving for what God has given us
over the last week is done next. Special music is played during the
offertory as we give our financial gifts to the church. Congregational
Prayer time is a meaningful time for us to share requests for prayer,
both joys and concerns. We then take time to listen and speak to God
individually. Our preacher, Todd McCain, then shares a scripture and
thought-provoking sermon with the congregation. Then we rejoice with one
another as we sing the last song.
The service has a unique flavor to it,
utilizing Contemporary Christian worship music like you would hear on
104.7 The Fish, informal attire (come as you are), and a warm atmosphere
of Christian family. Two large-screen video presentations assist the
congregation in following the order of worship.
Communion is offered the first Sunday of each
month during our service.
Visitors are more than welcome to join us in
our Praise of the Lord Jesus Christ.
